To unclog a cart, warm it gently so the oil thins, then clear the airflow path with a few dry pulls or a thin pin through the mouthpiece. A clog almost always means thick oil has cooled and hardened in the airway, often after the cart sat in the cold or on its side. Most clogs clear in a minute.
Signs your cart is clogged
- Hard to pull, like drinking a thick milkshake through a straw
- The battery light blinks but you get no vapour
- A gurgling sound or oil reaching your mouth
Fixes, from easiest
- Warm it up. Hold it in your hand or a pocket for a few minutes. If your battery has a preheat mode (often a double or triple click), run it once or twice.
- Take dry pulls. Without pressing the button, take two or three short, firm draws to move the oil.
- Clear the mouthpiece. Gently push a paperclip or pin straight down the mouthpiece to break up hardened oil. Don’t touch the coil.
- Blow back gently. A soft puff back through the mouthpiece can push a blockage loose. Wipe the base afterwards.
- Use warm air. A hair dryer on low for 10 to 20 seconds, held at a distance, thins the oil. Don’t overheat it.
Cart cleaning
You can’t clean the inside of a sealed cart, but you can keep the outside clear:
- Wipe the threads and the battery contact with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol.
- Clear the mouthpiece with a dry swab or pipe cleaner.
- Let everything dry fully before reconnecting.
Prevent clogs
- Store carts upright at room temperature, not in the cold.
- After each session, take one short dry pull to clear vapour left in the airway.
- Use a battery with a preheat setting if you use thick oil.
From our shelves Our 1 g Vape Carts use the standard 510 thread. If clogs keep happening, a sealed disposable takes care of the hardware for you.
Common questions
Why does my cart keep clogging?
Usually cold storage or storing it on its side. Thick oils like live resin clog more easily.
Can I use rubbing alcohol inside a cart?
No. Only clean the outside, threads and mouthpiece; never put liquid into the cart.
Does a hair dryer damage a cart?
Brief, gentle warm air is fine. Too much heat can crack the glass or damage the seal.
Is a clogged cart broken?
Rarely. Most clogs clear with warmth and a few dry pulls.
