Aroma and flavour

GDP is described as grape and berry, sometimes with a floral note. Its most common terpene in lab data is myrcene. The purple colour comes from anthocyanins, the same pigments as in grapes and blueberries.

Lineage

Leafly lists Mendocino Purps and Skunk #1 as its parents; an older account credits Big Bud × Purple Urkle. Its best-known offspring is Purple Punch (Granddaddy Purple × Larry OG), and it’s also in the genetics of Fruity Pebbles.

Indica, sativa and what to expect

Strain names and types are a starting point, not a guarantee. Studies of real cannabis products have found that labels don’t reliably predict a product’s chemistry, and two batches with the same name can differ. Read the product label for THC, and see Does indica make you tired? for why.
